Would you like to have your own radio show? If this is something you’ve always wanted to do then get in touch with the Madison County Arts Council.
In 2014, MCAC was permit to establish a community radio station in Marshall. In May of 2016 the station went LIVE on the FM dial!
It’s called wART FM and the station needs volunteers to be on the air, create programming and work behind the scenes. For instance, you might create a program around storytelling, current events, children’s stories, music, books and even news from within your own community.
Those who are interested will receive training on how to use a mixing board, produce radio programs, use a recorder, develop a story idea and prepare narration for your program.
In addition, wART is looking for underwriters – people and organizations that would be willing to fund the station and programs.
Interested? Then send the Madison County Arts Council an email and let us know what role you’d like to play at the all-volunteer wART Radio. MCAC is looking for people interested in being DJ’s, program producers, presenters, talk show hosts and those with technical and carpentry skills.
