Music
Radio
The MCAC has its own radio station in the little red caboose at the south entrance to downtown Marshall. We broadcast locally on 95.5 FM and also online at WArtfm.org (Click the WART logo or the link to check out the station website.) Listen in for a great mix of music – everything from ballads to rockabilly to funk to hip hop throat singing to honky tonk.
Concerts
The Madison County Arts Council has presented concerts and festivals at various venues throughout Madison County. We had a home at 90 S Main St for many years – and before that, we held concerts at homes and public spaces all around Madison County. We are excited in 2017 to be partnering with the Marshall Depot for a series of concerts in their beautiful space. We will also be presenting shows at Broyhill Chapel on the MHU campus, and at the Marshall Presbyterian Church. Music, dance, theater, and storytelling are all part of the eclectic mix of performances hosted by the MCAC. Past performers have included The Kruger Brothers, Leonard Hollifield, Hot Rize, Bil Lepp, Bobby Hicks, April Verch, Floating Action, The Green Grass Cloggers, Sheila Kay Adams, Joe Penland, Dub Kartel, Donald Davis, Buddy Spicher, Roy Book Binder, Cordero, and David Holt & the Lightning Bolts. We are also host of the legendary ‘Tribute to the Fiddlers of Madison County’ concerts, which take place on the second Saturday in March. Regularly scheduled festivals include the Bluff Mountain Festival, held at the Hot Springs Spa and Resort the second Saturday in June, and the Art On The Island Festival, which is held on the last Saturday in September on Blannahassett Island in downtown Marshall.
