 h two of our favorite sons. Terry Roberts and Joe Penland each have unique
  talents and perspectives when it comes to life in Madison County. Robert'
 s new book\, In the Fullness of Time\, is set in Madison County. Joe Penla
 nd has spent much of his life writing songs and telling stories about life
  here\, so we are super excited to bring these two together. And we are ve
 ry grateful to the folks at Capitola Mill for hosting this special event.

 n and widower\, he is elected due to the political machinations of his bro
 ther. His new territory is the fabled Madison County\, North Carolina—a 
 place of the steepest mountain ridges and most isolated coves and valleys.
  A place where the seasons matter more than the calendar and the past is a
 s real as the present.\nWhen he first takes office\, he hopes only to deal
  with the drunk and disorderly and stolen tractors\, but matters quickly a
 ccelerate into arson\, grave robbing\, and murder\, and he begins to suspe

 rine Metcalf\, a lonely high school principal whose husband has been in a
