The Madison County Arts Council is excited to present the 8th annual ‘Art On The Island’ Festival on beautiful Blannahassett Island in downtown Marshall on Saturday, September 28. Art on the Island serves a sampling of creativity in Madison County and Western North Carolina. There will be booths selling a wide variety of local art. Attendees can enjoy, hands-on activities for young and old. This all day affair presents artists, crafters, food, hands-on fun, and kid’s activities from 10am until 5pm and is free and open to the public. There will also be live music. Details of music lineup and vendors will be added ASAP.

For information on being a vendor at the event, call (828)649-1301.

In addition to the festival, Blannahassett Island is the home of Marshall High Studios, located in the renovated 1925 building that formerly housed Marshall High school. These studios house a wide variety of working artist studios. The festival will take place on the grounds of the island, with plenty of space for artist’s booths, playground joy, and picnic fun. All of the participating artists are MCAC members and food is provided by Madison County vendors. There will be food and special activities on Main Street in downtown Marshall the day of the festival, and WART 95.5 (Marshall’s Community Radio Voice) will broadcast special programming.
